Enrollment at Evergreen Preschool

Evergreen Preschool welcomes children ages 3 to 5. The preschool enrolls up to 35 children, divided into two classes. Priority for enrollment is given to currently enrolled students and siblings of alumni, as outlined in the preschool’s by-laws. Any remaining spaces will be filled through a lottery (see details below).

The preschool year follows the public school calendar, running from September through early June. Children must be 3 years old by September 1st to be eligible for enrollment.

In February of each year, applications will be made available online and distributed to current and returning families. Enrollment opportunities will also be advertised on the Evergreen Preschool website and Facebook page.

 

Lottery Process

If the number of applicants exceeds 35, a lottery will be conducted by the Evergreen Board in March each year. All applicants will be notified of the results following the lottery. Families who are not selected will have the option to remain on a waiting list. This list will be used to fill any openings if space becomes available before the school year begins or during the year. Please note that the $50 registration fee is non-refundable.

Tuition Information

Tuition at Evergreen Preschool is divided into ten monthly payments, with the first payment due on June 15th. If the first payment is not received by this date, the preschool will be unable to hold the child’s place. Subsequent payments are due on the 1st of each month, from September through May.

The amounts listed below reflect the family "co-pay" after the ACT 166 tuition reimbursement has been applied.

2025-2026 Tuition Rates

• Two-Day Program for 3-4 Year Olds:

  • Preschool Days (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:00 a.m.–1:15 p.m.): $150/month

  • Full Days (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7:45 a.m.–4:00 p.m.): $300/month

• Three-Day Program for 4-5 Year Olds:

  • Preschool Days (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 8:00 a.m.–1:15 p.m.): $200/month

  • Full Days (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 7:45 a.m.–4:00 p.m.): $415/month

*Preschool tuition is subsidized by individual school districts.

Extended Day Care

Evergreen Preschool offers extended day care for families who need additional hours. Children enrolled in the extended care program can stay at the preschool until 4:00 p.m., under the supervision of our dedicated staff. Please note that space is limited to a maximum of 6 children per day.

Financial Aid

Evergreen Preschool offers financial assistance through the VT State Child Care Subsidy for families who meet income eligibility requirements. For more information, please visit: Child Care Financial Assistance | Department for Children and Families.

Additionally, Evergreen has a limited number of scholarship funds available each year for families who can demonstrate financial need.
