Admissions Policy

Enrollment at Evergreen Preschool is open to any child between the ages of three and five.  The preschool accepts 34 children, divided into two classes of 17. Priority is given to currently enrolled students and siblings of alumni in accordance with the preschool’s by-laws. Any remaining spaces will be filled by lottery (see below).

 

Each program runs according to the public school calendar from September through early June. Children must be 3 years old by September 1st to enroll.

 

In February of each year, applications will be made available online and distributed to current and returning families. Enrollment will be advertised on the Evergreen Preschool website and Facebook Page.

 

 

 

LOTTERY

If there are more than 34 applicants, a lottery drawing

will be held by the Evergreen Board.  This drawing will be held in early spring (March) of each school year.  All applicants will be notified after the lottery. Families not chosen will have the option of remaining on a waiting list. The waiting list will be used to fill openings in the event a student withdraws prior to school starting or during the school year. The $50 registration is non-refundable.

TUITION

Annual tuition is divided equally into ten monthly payments. The first tuition payment is due on June 15th. The preschool will not hold a child’s place after this date if one month’s tuition is not paid. Tuition is then due on the first of each month, September through May.  Below is the family "co-pay" after ACT 166 tuition reimbursement has been deducted from the full tuition cost.

2024-25 Tuition

Three Day Program for 4-5 year olds:

 

Three Preschool Days   M,W,F  8:00 am-1:15 pm      

Tuition: $185.00/month*

Three Full Days          M,W,F  7:45 am-4:00 pm      

Tuition: $385.00/month*

 

Two Day Program for 3-4 year olds:

 

Two Preschool Days     T,TH    8:00 am-1:15 pm      

Tuition: $135.00/month*

Two Full Days             T,TH    7:45 am-4:00 pm      

Tuition: $270.00/month*

 

*Preschool tuition is subsidized by individual school districts.

EXTENDED DAY CARE

 

We offer extended hours to families who wish to sign up. Children who are enrolled in our extended day care can stay at Evergreen until 4:00 pm under the supervision of our teachers.  We can take a maximum of 6 children per day.    

 

 

FINANCIAL AID

 

Financial Aid through VT State Child Care Subsidy is offered to families who are income eligible.  Contact Rebecca at 388-4304 to inquire.

Evergreen has limited scholarship funds each year that are allocated to families that can demonstrate financial eligibility.
